Subway testing vegan options

This is pretty good news. I'd love to see these go national. There aren't enough solid vegan options in chains like these. Props to COK for getting things done.
After successfully persuading companies including Morningstar Farms, Lightlife, BOCA Foods, and Quorn to reduce or eliminate their use of eggs and offer more vegan options, COK has been reaching out to Subway, urging the world's largest restaurant chain to offer more substantial protein-packed vegan meals on its menus.

Chickpea Patties, White BBQ Sauce, Grilled Zucchini

The chickpea patties are made like polenta. Here's the recipe from "The Truck Food Cookbook" by John T. Edge. We skipped the rest of the recipe and served them on top of a cabbage slaw with an Alabama style white BBQ dipping sauce and a side of grilled zucchini.

Here and there

I post a lot to the Facebook page lately and there are something like 6000 people who like it, although these days Facebook now wants you to start paying to have the people who like your page actually see your posts. I think that's unreasonable.
So I am going to start posting more here I think and soon move the blog to the front page as I continue to develop the site in new directions.

Changes

More Than Salad is officially in a transitional period. Rather than continue existing as a worldwide directory, I am clearing out most of the restaurants from the database except for ones I have personally visited and wish to visit. So it's becoming more about my personal experience of being vegan over the last 9 years. I'm not sure how many restaurants I have been to yet, I am figuring that out, but it's a lot and it's going to be even more. People are still free to sign up, write reviews or comments and generally interact. Much more to come soon as I revamp and add new content.
