Flore Vegan
Organic, Comfort Food, Juice bar, Deli, Completely Vegan
I stopped by Flore once without the opportunity to eat, but I made a mental note to return based on the ambience and menu alone and that was reinforced by some amazing pictures I saw of the food probably via Quarrygirl who counted them as a favorite. I was particularly excited cause of a picture of biscuits & gravy I saw, something I have spent time seeking out in the veg restaurants of the world, but due to poor planning on my part I found out upon arriving to dine that they only serve them on the weekends, so my vegan biscuits & gravy will have to wait til next time. They have a huge menu with tons of different items, a breakfast selection, tacos, burritos, plates, sandwiches, fresh juices, many choices. I ended up with a pretty enormous breakfast burrito filled with tofu, tempeh bacon, peppers, kale, avocado, and probably other things I did not recognize nor could remember. It mercifully came with a large bowl of fruit to wash it down which was welcome since I'm on an eating tour of LA and am close to exploding. No room for the vegan desserts sitting in the pastry cabinet, but there was a nice selection of cupcakes and cakes to choose from. Oh, I also had this fresh ginger ale with agave and other spices which packed a mighty punch and actually was so gingery as to resemble ginger beer moreso than a sweet ginger ale. All in all very delicious and this is gonna be an LA favorite for sure.
